Minibus hire

Coundon & Leeholme Community Partnership provides four fully accessible buses for hire to community groups and organisations operating in the local area and beyond.  Membership of the community transport scheme is required to access the service.

What’s on offer?

Two 14-seat, one 20-seat and one 21-seat minibuses, all fully accessible and able to accommodate any size of wheelchair.
All buses can accommodate a mixture of wheelchairs and able-bodied passengers in various combinations depending on individual needs. Please contact the Partnership to discuss possible configurations.
For safety and comfort each passenger has a three-point seat belt, and wheelchairs are secured by the latest recommended locking devices.

What about children?

Car seats and booster cushions are available for younger passengers, as are story books, colouring books and crayons suitable for a range of ages and abilities. These little extras help youngsters pass the time on long journeys.

Drivers

Our friendly, helpful drivers are specially trained for assisting passengers as well as completing the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS). They are also CRB checked and many have first aid training.

Extras

The scheme has one adult’s and one child’s wheelchair for loan on a short-term basis, for example for a day trip or mobility at a special event.

Driver Training

Coundon & Leeholme Community Partnership can provide training in the MiDAS scheme, the Minibus Drivers Awareness Scheme, which teaches special skills needed for driving such vehicles.
Training can be arranged ‘in house’ if requested or at our Coundon premises.
